Frequently Asked Questions

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

You can find us #5-425 Columbia Ave. Castlegar B.C. inside Allegra Collective.

Across from City Hall and beside Kel-Print in downtown Castlegar.


If you’re visiting the studio for the first time, please ensure you give yourself enough time to locate it and arrive prepared. It’s your responsibility to plan ahead and account for travel, parking, or other delays. We recommend arriving 5 to 10 minutes early to start your session on time. Thank you!

WHO CAN ATTEND A POLE FITNESS CLASS?

Anyone! Pole Fitness is a great workout for people of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels.  However we do require participants to be 18+.  Keep in mind participation is mandatory, no looky loos allowed.

DO I HAVE TO BOOK AHEAD OF TIME  OR CAN I WALK-IN?

We require everyone to book in for class. There is a limited number of spots available in each class and we cannot guarantee there will be space unless you book ahead of time. Bookings can be made up to 24 hours before the class starts.

HOW DO I BOOK?

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

Cash, credit, debit, e-transfers and Paypal

Please note pre payment is mandatory. If you arrive to the studio and have not made a booking you will not be permitted in to class. 

I'M NERVOUS, WHAT CAN I EXPECT FOR MY FIRST CLASS?

This is totally normal. Everyone feels a little shy initially. But once class starts they instantly feel at ease. We pride ourselves on offering a safe judgement free space for everyone in order to get the most out of class. Classes consist of a warm up, floor and pole work, and a cool down. Creating a total body workout.

*Tip: If you're feeling a little unsure about your first class get someone to take it with you! It could be a friend, co worker, or partner. You might be surprised by who in your life is also interested in trying a class.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR/BRING?

We suggest you wear form fitting shorts and a tank top. As well as a sports bra for women and a dance belt for men. Don't forget to bring water and hair tie if need be. If it is your first class and you're not comfortable with minimal clothing you can wear capris and a t shirt. Clothing MUST be free of any embellishments that may cause damage to the poles such as zippers,  etc.

We also suggest you bring/wear sweatpants and a hoodie or a onesie that you can wear during warm up as its a little chilly in the studio.

*Please note lingerie / underwear is not adequate and must be worn in combination with the appropriate sports wear.

HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR CLASS?

Read over our policies and etiquette.

Complete a Par-Q Form

​

Do not apply any cream, lotion, oil etc. the day of class. As they will hinder your grip and the grip of others using the pole.

​

Remove ALL jewelry (ie. rings, necklaces etc.) as they can catch on the pole causing damage to both you and the pole. If you have a body piercings or dermals please cover them with a band aid. If you have permanent jewelry please remove it or bring k-tape or a sweatband to cover it. Dermals and permanent jewelry must be covered at all times, if they cause damage to the equipment you are liable for replacements. 

WHAT LEVELS DO YOU OFFER?

We currently offer mixed level classes. 

WHAT ARE THE CLASS SIZES?

Classes will have a max. of 6 participants, with 2 people sharing a pole should the class be full to allow for maximum pole time.

WHAT IS YOUR LATE POLICY?

Should you arrive 5 minutes late or more you will not be permitted to participate and find the door to be locked. The warm up is an important part of class and cannot be missed or skipped. The instructors and students time is valuable please be respectful and arrive to class 5 minutes early and ready to begin class.

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY FOR MISSED CLASSES?

If you miss a class you will be considered a no-show and no refund will be given/payment is owed immediately.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

PUBLIC CLASSES

If you need to cancel your booking we require 24 hours notice in order to issue a refund. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will not receive a refund/ full payment is owed.

PRIVATE CLASSES

Both one on one and group private classes require 48 hours notice in order to receive a refund. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will not receive a refund/full payment is owed.

WHAT IS YOUR RESCHEDULING POLICY?

PUBLIC CLASSES

If you need to reschedule your booking we require 24 hours notice in order to issue a refund. A rescheduling requested with less than 24 hours notice will incur a fee of 50% of the cost of your specific booking added to the final cost and must have new date set immediately. If a new date is not set this will be considered a no show / cancellation and the full cost of the booking will be owed.

If you need to change your booking contact us as soon as possible, and we'll find another day/time that works for you. We understand life happens and will do our best to accommodate you. Please note last minute rescheduling availability may be limited. 

I AM NOT INTERESTED IN TAKING CLASSES, I ONLY WANT TO COME IN DURING OPEN OPEN AND WORKOUT. CAN I DO THIS?

No. If you are just looking for a place to put your in your earphones, workout and leave. Mountain Valley Pole Fitness is probably not the right fit for you. We are a instructed studio and as such we expect you to be working on improving your fitness under some guidance other than youtube, instagram, etc.

I AM VISITING FOR A FEW WEEKS AND TAKE CLASSES BACK HOME. CAN I BOOK INTO OPEN POLE?

We will do our best to accommodate visiting polers. We do operate out of a multi-disciplinary shared studio. Any additions to our schedule will need to work around other instructors and businesses, and therefore availability will be extremely limited.  Please keep in mind our scheduled classes take priority and we will not come in during days off/holidays.
